The East Church is much as it was 200 years ago. The internal layout is typical of many Scottish presbyterian churches, with a central pulpit and lofts (galleries) to provide additional accommodation. The church contains a memorial to Sir Thomas Urquhart of Cromarty, the translator of Rabelais.
