Royal
Dornoch Golf Course, rated number 15 in the world, is
classic links with the first eight holes following the natural
grades of the old dune embankments, while the remainder skirts
the sandy beaches of Dornoch Bay. Golf has been played on the
links since 1616. The 14th (Foxy) is probably the finest natural
hole in golf.
Royal Dornoch has a second 18 hole links course
The Struie, also
maintained to a high standard. The layout complements the Championship
Course, and provides a fresh challenge requiring accuracy and
good judgment.
Dornoch is the birth place of the famous American
Golf Course Architect, Donald Ross and the Association of American
Golf Course Architects held their 50th Anniversary Dinner in
the Burghfield. |
