What better place to celebrate Hogmanay than the Burghfield
House Hotel. Euan is well used to sharing the break of dawn with
his guests at any time of year, but there is something special
about joining him to welcome in the New Year.
After the celebrations of the night before, New Year's Day
is an outing to the Royal Marine in Brora, for the annual curling
match. Beginners to this sport are welcome - the experienced
hands are given more to drink to even out the competition!
Contrary to popular opinion, Dornoch is not snowed up all
winter, and most New Year breaks include a round or two on Royal
Dornoch. In fact some years guests have commented that it was
better weather than they have experienced in the summer! |
