Like all Scottish lighhouses, Cromarty lighthouse is now fully automatic. The oubuildings, however, still have human occupants in the form of Aberdeen University students studying the famous Bottlenose Dolphins of the Moray Firth. For the general public, regular dolphin boat trips are available through 'Dolphin Ecosse'.
