Like many small rural communities, Cromarty has lost some of its small local shops. The Bank of Scotland closed its Cromarty branch 4 years ago, replacing it with a cash machine. Cromarty still retains many other shops, including a baker, 2 general stores, a craft shop, a gallery, and a book and antiques shop.
