Listserv service No its not spam! Listservers are to email people who want to hear from you. Calico UK offer the service of opt-in opt-out mailing lists for use for newsletters and updates for customers, colleagues and friends. You can also use listservers for online discussion groups and forums. Many organisations use listservs to autosend email to interested people. The recipients of a listserv can choose whether or not to receive these messages. Examples include organisations keeping their clients up to date with price lists or new products, or providing aftersales support service. It is becoming increasingly popular to subscribe to a listserv from a website, rather than remembering to revisit the website. About the Service Lists can be open discussion (read and write by all members) or distribution (read only by all members with read and write access by one named member). You may wish to use this type of list for simply distributing information to a group of people. Subscribing and unsubscribing is done automatically by each member using standard Subscribe, Unsubscribe and Help email subject lines. Lists can also be "moderated" and the list owner can be given access to allow or deny subscriptions. An initial customised welcome message can be setup and sent to all new subscribers setting out the "guidelines" for the List and the List commands they can use. We supply a template welcome message that can be customised to your own requirements and returned to us for inclusion in the list. * Please note that listservs are not normally used for distributing file attachments. Options Available: There are three options for your listname: "your-list"@listservers.co.uk - if you want to use our domain. "your-list"@yourdomain.com - if you want to use your own domain already hosted with Calico UK. "your-list"@list.yourdomain.com - if you want to use your own domain that's hosted elsewhere. The Costings There is no setup charge for lists on the listservers.co.uk domain, and each listserv is charged at £30 (+ vat) pa per 250 subscribers.
