| Setup your Macintosh OS 7.5 machine for free internet

The Screen shots below are from Mac OS 7.5. Your
computer must have a modem already installed & setup.

| Setting up TCP/IP |

Go to Control Panels and choose Mac TCP.

Select the PPP icon and set the IP Address to 0.0.0.0.

Then click More The following screen will open:

Click on the Obtain Address Manually bullet and then select
C from the Class pull down menu.

Under Domain Name Server Information, go to the two boxes directly under Domain
and type a full stop . in each.

Under IP Address, type 212.1.128.165 in the first box then
type 212.1.128.156 in the second box.

Under Default, check the top bullet.
-
In Routing Information, Gateway Address, type 212.1.128.254 in
the box.
-
Return to Obtain Address and bullet Server. Click OK and
close Mac TCP.

| Configuring PPP |

Open Config PPP from Control Panels.
-
Your Config PPP control panel may look slightly different but everything should
work the same.

Click the button New...

-
PPP server name: type Calico UK.
-
Click OK and then click the Config... button.

-
The Port Speed should be set to your modem speed.
-
Flow Control: CTS&RTS (DTR).
-
Bullet : Tone dial.
-
Add the correct telephone number for your type of modem:
-
0845 662 1309 for most modems and ISDN
-
Then click Connect Script...

Set the Connect Script panel to look like the picture below and then click the
OK button.

Next click on the Authentication button and add the:
Auth.ID: calico and the Password: login
-
The Password field hides the text for security reasons behind bullet points.
-
Make sure you type it exactly using all lower case characters and then press
OK.

You are now ready to connect to the net.

Use the Open and Close buttons in Config PPP to start and stop your connection.
