The WordPress content management system is used by hundreds of our customers for their website design. We thought it might be useful for them to share why they use it. Jim Spence of Penmore House replied as follows:
The isleofmullselfcatering.co.uk website is for self catering accommodation sleeping 10 on the Isle of Mull. The accommodation has been running since 1995. Calico have hosted the site since 2000 and have been available to help sort out any issues we were having on the end of a phone when needed.
There was an occasion when we were on holiday, sitting by a pool in Asia when a customer email popped up on my mobile, I tried to ignore it, but it was pointing out a grammar error on a hastily prepared page of my site. I couldn’t ignore it.
All I had was my mobile phone, but I logged into my site, pulled up the page, corrected the error, emailed back to the customer thanking them and telling them it was fixed, I then sat back and smugly ordered another beer from the pool bar ! The whole process took less than 5 minutes.
It's a cost effective approach with built in system to accept bookings, payments, and update availability diary.
Jim's site uses the Anima theme, which is a highly customizable theme created for personal and business sites alike. It has wide and boxed layouts, customizable colors and widths and it supports WooCommerce, Google Fonts, social icons and much more.
The site also uses many plugins to provide the functionality it needs, including the cryout-serious-slider plugin to provide the front page with large dynamic photographs of the accommodation.
